A country with a long list of reasons why you shouldnβt go, from crime and the homicide rate to its location right in the passageway between the drug cartels further south and the consumers up north. Yet a country that you should explore, carefully, at least once. Head for the beaches, where there is world class diving in the second richest marine ecosystem in the world after the Great Barrier Reef and donβt forget the Mayan ruins, practically empty, that dot the north. Poor and rugged, Honduras is awaiting to be discovered once the security situation improves. Until then, only the bravest, or perhaps the most unconscious, will venture out.
